Story Of Oak Tree And Reed

There was a huge oak tree on the bank of the river. Looking at him, it seemed as if he was proudly standing erect with his many arms spread out. He was also proud of his vastness. There were some thin reeds growing nearby—fragile, frail-looking reeds that would make the oak tree feel its strength and swell with pride.

Whenever the wind blew, the huge oak tree stood tall, as if trying to stop the wind. Wherein the thin reeds would bow down, as if greeting the wind and giving it a way to go.

The oak tree laughed at the reeds, “How weak you are. You bow down in front of the slightest wind. I worry about you that someday you may fly away.

"Don't worry about us. We bow to the winds. are therefore safe. They will not harm us. But if you remain like this, then one day you will definitely be uprooted. Sometimes showing humility is more effective than protesting.”

"I am not as weak as you, who bow before the wind." The oak tree would answer.

"Then just wait. Your end is near." Reeds are called.

One day a fierce stormy wind started blowing. As always, the oak tree stood up to fight the storm. Reed bowed down humbly. The wind blew freely over the reeds. But seeing the obstinate attitude of the oak tree, she got angry and started showing her fierce form.

The oak tree could not stand before the anger of the wind and fell down after being uprooted. He had reaped the fruits of his futile obstinacy and obstinate attitude.

Lesson - Where humility is needed, vain dogma brings downfall.
